Nursing (Advanced Placement LPN to RN, Associate Degree)

 

Program OverviewOne nursing student

Current LPNs have the option to advance place into the second year of the Associate Degree program. These students must have completed the general education prerequisites to be eligible for the admission into the second year of two year-registered nurse program.

In addition to completion of the application for admission, LPNs must also submit a copy of their current LPNs license which must be maintained throughout the length of the program. 

Admission for advanced placement is selective. To be considered for acceptance into the fall class students must meet the application requirements. A program information packet, including information about the selection process and applicant folder requirements is available upon request to the Nursing Education office. Applicants are encouraged to make an appointment to discuss the details of the advanced placement requirements. The number of advanced placement students accepted will be determined by the space available.

Career Opportunities The U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that in 2014, the median pay for Registered Nurses with at least an associate degree was $66,640 per year.
