Western Nebraska Community College provides students with advising resources to achieve their academic goals.
Advisors are available to assist students draft an academic plan outlining the courses students need to complete in order to meet the requirements for graduation; the academic plan can be modified each semester based upon course offerings and student progress.
Advisors are also available to assist students who are considering changing their programs or who need information regarding transfer to other colleges. Information on time management, study skills, test taking, and stress management is also available to help a student toward academic success.
In addition, each student is assigned a faculty advisor who has special training and experience in the student’s academic field of interest.
Faculty advisors can be of assistance to students in their efforts to achieve satisfactory academic and social adjustment.
The student’s faculty advisor can answer general questions on scheduling and planning the academic program at any time and particularly during registration advising sessions.
The faculty advisor’s signature or approval is required for registration each semester before processing the registration through the Student Services Office. This approval can be done in person or online.
Questions concerning work in a particular course should be discussed with the course instructor.
