Welcome to Academic Testing and Tutoring

Academic Testing and Tutoring offers a variety of programs and services for students. Students can take advantage of these services in the D-Pod in the Main Building on the Scottsbluff Campus.

Standardized Testing

College Level Examination Program (CLEP)
As many as 25 credits may be granted for successful completion of the CLEP exams. Credit is available through five general examinations or through the various subject exams; three or more credit hours are given for each test. Each exam is multiple choice and 90 minutes in length. The CLEP exams are given between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. at AT&T.

College Entrance Examinations

The ACT is an optional entrance exam for all Freshman students enrolling into WNCC. It consists of tests in English, Math, Social Studies, Reading and Science Reasoning and an optional essay. The packet also includes an interest inventory and a student profile section to obtain information for counseling and to help students with their educational plans. Study books are available in most bookstores and libraries. The ACT test is offered six times each year at WNCC and at many other colleges and high schools. Visit ACT Student to register.

The SATs are entrance exams that are used at colleges and universities.The SAT  test is a four-hour test, primarily multiple-choice, that measures verbal and mathematical reasoning abilities. The SAT Subject Tests are one-hour, primarily multiple-choice tests in specific subjects. Visit College Board to register.

Tutoring Services
Tutoring Services supports the mission of Western Nebraska Community college by providing quality one-on-one or small group learning assistance by certified and peer tutors who encourage students in the development of their potential as independent learners.
