Program Overview

The Pre-Veterinary emphasis area, offered on our Scottsbluff campus, constitutes the first two years of the study required for admission to a college of veterinary medicine.


  • Provide the information and credit required for a student to continue upper division pre-veterinary and comparative medicine studies at a four-year college or university.
  • Provide course work basic to a variety of curricula. Students can change their educational goals to other areas, especially in the life sciences, with little or no lost time

The U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that in 2012, the median pay for Veterinarians with a doctoral or professional degree was $84,460 per year. Growth in jobs in this field for the decade 2012-2022 was projected to be 12%, as fast as average. (
