Plumbing

Plumber Level I is intended for students interested in entering the plumbing industry. The program is designed to help students get an entry-level job as a helper, or with a goal of being a plumbing apprentice.

Training Program

In the 93-hour program, students will learn and become oriented to:

Plumbing Safety
Tools of the Plumbing Trade
Plumbing Math
Plumbing Drawing
Plastic Pipe and Fittings
Copper Tube and Fittings
Cast Iron Pipe and Fittings
Steel Pipe and Fittings

Drain, Waste, and Vent (DWV) Systems

Complete a Construction Trades application.
Attend an orientation.
Students will need access to a computer and internet for homework and studying.
Tools – the required tools list will be provided at registration.

Future Classes

Electrical

Electrical Level I is intended for students interested in entering the electrical field to maintain electrical systems and equipment in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The program is designed to help students get an entry-level job as a helper, or with a goal of becoming an electrical apprentice.

Training Program

In the 65-hour program, students will learn and become oriented to:

Safety for Electricians
Electrical Circuits
Electrical Theory
National Electrical Code
Device Boxes
Hand Bending Conduit
Wireways, Raceways, and Fittings
Conductors and Cables
Basic Electrical Construction Documents
Residential Wiring
Electrical Test Equipment

General Carpentry

General Carpentry is intended for students interested in entering the carpentry trade, and designed to help students get their foot in the door as a helper or apprentice.

Training Program

In the 100-hour program, students will learn and become oriented to:

Safety in Construction
Building Materials and Fasteners
Hand and Power Tools
Construction Plans and Documents
Principles of Site and Building Layout
Floor Systems
Wall Systems
Roof Framing
Building Envelope Systems
Basic Stair Layout

HVACR Level I is intended for students interested in entering the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration industry and designed to help students get an entry level job as a helper or apprentice.

In the 83-hour program, students will learn and become oriented to:

Basic Principles of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, and Trade Regulations
Trade Mathematics
Basic Electricity
Fundamentals of Heating Systems
Fundamentals of Cooling and Refrigeration Cycles
Air Distribution Systems

Soldering and Brazing
Basic Carbon Steel Piping Practices
