Military & Veterans Services 

The Military & Veterans Affairs Office provides academic, career, and financial assistance to qualified veterans at no cost, as well as organized social and cultural activities. Our goal is to ensure academic success – whether that means graduation or transferring to a four-year institution - through persistence and ease of access to services.

TRIO Veterans Upward Bound

The Military & Veterans Affairs Office, which includes the TRIO Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) program, provides academic, career, and financial assistance to qualified veterans at no cost, as well as organized social and cultural activities. Our goal is to ensure academic success – whether that means graduation or transferring to a four-year institution - through persistence and ease of access to services.

WNCC Veteran's Center

We offer access to our Veteran's Center to help out students in an easy-to-locate position on our Scottsbluff Campus, in the upper ring of the Cougar Palace located in the Main Building. The Center offers many services, including: 

  • Free tutoring
  • Computer usage
  • Free printing 
  • Free school supplies 
  • Snacks 
  • A safe, low-key place to study and find comrades in arms 

Important to note:

  • Chapter 35 Dependents - you may be eligible for a tuition and fees waiver through the State Department of Veterans Affairs. 
  • In-state tuition rates apply to active duty military members and dependents of those members who are stationed in Nebraska.
  • If the military member is reassigned to another state, the military member's dependent will maintain eligibility for in-state tuition as long as the dependent is continuously enrolled in a degree program at a state institution.
