The Western Community College Area (WCCA) Board of Governors, the governing body for Western Nebraska Community College, is pleased to announce it has begun the search for the next president of WNCC.
Current president, Dr. Todd Holcomb, will assume the role of president at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, Iowa. His last day with WNCC is June 26.
An important step in the search process is the development of a Presidential Profile. An open forum will be held on June 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in The Plex at the John N. Harms Center on the Scottsbluff Campus. The public is invited to attend and encouraged to participate in the discussion about the qualities, characteristics, and qualifications needed to serve as the next president. Opportunities and challenges facing WNCC will also be discussed.
Additionally, the public is invited to provide confidential input online via a short electronic survey conducted by ACCT. To participate, go to surveymonkey.com/r/Western-Nebraska-CC-Presidential-search. The deadline to submit feedback is June 14.
Pursuant to board policy, a presidential screening and interview committee is being formed, and will include members of the Board of Governors, faculty, staff, students, and the community. The goal is to name the new president late November 2019 and to assume the role in January 2020.
