Dental Hygiene (Pre)

Start Here, Get There

Program Overview

Dental hygienists are taking on more importance in oral health as they perform routine dental care, allowing dentists to see more patients. In addition to cleaning teeth and examining patients, dental hygienists take and develop x-rays and provide preventative oral care such as applying fluoride and sealants and educating patients on oral health.

The Pre-Dental Hygiene emphasis area at WNCC, offered at our Scottsbluff Campus, is designed to provide the student with a course of study that allows you the opportunity to be admitted to and to complete the degree program at an accredited college of dental hygiene.

  • To provide an education that includes basic sciences including Microbiology, Chemistry, Pathology, Anatomy and Physiology to help develop the skills needed to become a Dental Hygienist.
  • To prepare them for transfer to a degree program from an accredited college of Dental Hygiene.
