Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Program Overview

This program, offered at our Scottsbluff campus, is designed to prepare emergency personnel in handling medical emergencies. Included is training in response to burns, emergencies including but not limited to: cardiovascular, obstetric, pediatric, geriatric and others, infections, diseases, and drug administration. Advanced Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are also covered. Upon completion of these levels the students are able to:

  • Respond to medical and traumatic emergencies utilizing skills learned at the Basic, Intermediate, and Paramedic levels involving newborn infants, pediatric, geriatric and mentally ill clients.
  • Administer medications to a variety of clients in a variety of situations.
  • Perform life support, advanced life support, and other emergency responses.
