The Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended by the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008, requires all accredited colleges and universities to disclose certain information to current and prospective students, employees, and members of the general public. This page provides easy access to that required information. NC-SARA

The National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) helps expand students’ access to educational opportunities and ensure more efficient, consistent, and effective regulation of distance education programs.

Recognizing the growing demand for distance education opportunities, higher education stakeholders – including state regulators and education leaders, accreditors, the U.S. Department of Education, and colleges and universities – joined together in 2013 to establish State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (SARA), which:

Improves distance education program quality nationwide.
Makes it easier for students to access distance education programs across state lines.
Reduces costs and bureaucracy for states and institutions.
Streamlines regulations around distance education programs.
Improves coordination between states on higher education opportunities.

Today, more than 2,200 institutions in 49 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands all voluntarily participate in SARA. Working through the Nebraska Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education (CCPE), WNCC is a NC-SARA participating college.

Non-Discrimination Policy

Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972 protect individuals from discrimination based on sex in any educational program or activity. Sexual harassment, which includes acts of sexual violence, is a form of sex discrimination prohibited by Title IX.

The Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA) requires the Secretary of Education to collect information and provide Congress a report on financial and statistical information on men and women’s collegiate sports. Privacy of Student Educational Records - Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (sometimes referred to as FERPA or the Buckley Amendment) is a federal law that protects the privacy of the students' educational records. As an institution that participates in federal financial aid program, WNCC fully complies with this law.
