Western Nebraska Community College and Bluffs Broadcasting (formally Hometown Family Radio) signed an agreement to broadcast WNCC Cougar Athletic games on local radio station KOZY 101.3 FM for the athletic seasons of 2013-2014 and 2014-2015.
"The College is happy to partner once again with KOZY to bring Cougar Athletics to our hometown fans. We are also thrilled to continue online video streaming of games on wncc.edu," said WNCC Athletic Director Ryan Burgner.
Bluffs Broadcasting coverage begins with last year's national runner-up Cougar volleyball team traveling to Council Bluffs Iowa for the Reiver Classic at Iowa Western Community College on Friday and Saturday, August 23-24. KOZY 101.3 FM will provide live video streaming online of all home games and select road contests, available on wncc.edu.
Matt Williams reprises his role as the Voice of the Cougars on KOZY 101.3 FM. Williams called the Cougars from 2007-2010, including national championships for volleyball in 2007 and 2010, and the women's basketball team's national tournament appearance in 2008. "We are very excited to have the Cougars back on the radio here in the valley; this will add to our great line up of local coverage," said Williams, operations manager and sports director of Bluffs Broadcasting. "Several new things will be added to the coverage this year, starting with volleyball and soccer in the fall", he added. "Once the season starts, we will have a local half hour show every Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m. with coaches, players, and WNCC staff."
KOZY 101.3 FM will also provide play by play coverage of men's and women's basketball games and select games of baseball, softball, and men's and women's soccer.
