July was a pivotal month for two area businesses. One business graduated from the WNCC Business Incubator and relocated near downtown Scottsbluff, and a recent start up business relocated from a home office into the Incubator.
The graduating business, Addiction Counseling and Consultation Services, Inc. (ACCS), is owned and managed by Juanita Rodriguez, and employs a dynamic team of professionals whose focus is to help people overcome addiction. Judy Amoo, dean for economic and community development at WNCC and manager of the Incubator, marvels at the accomplishments of their first tenant and graduate. "It has been a pleasure to work with Juanita and the staff of ACCS over the past year and a half, during which time they had a unique opportunity to be a client in Gallup's Entrepreneur Acceleration System Program." Rodriguez was provided with data and subsequent insights about herself as an entrepreneur, her team and their strengths, and she was able to survey her clients and customers for feedback on their experiences with her services. During ACCS' time in the Incubator, Rodriguez completed her business plan, expanded her services around the panhandle, launched a website, became incorporated, updated her mission and value statements, and created one new job and two internships. "Juanita took full advantage of the resources and opportunities offered through the Incubator, expanded her business, and has recently purchased a lovely building in downtown Scottsbluff," said Amoo.
The new address for ACCS is 1917 Ave A in Scottsbluff or they can be contacted at 308.633.1390. An Open House/Graduation at the new location will occur this Thursday, August 1 from 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. The media and public are encouraged to attend and enjoy refreshments.
Moving into the Incubator this month is John P. Stinner, Jr., Principal of Stinner Consulting, a start up business created in September of last year. Stinner Consulting offers businesses guidance and support in developing strategies and models for future growth. Stinner's background and expertise are in managerial and business training, developing marketing strategies, social media campaigns, and strategic plans.
After moving back to this area several years ago to work in the banking industry, Stinner began to see broader applications for his unique combination of education, skills, and experiences. With the blessing of his family, Stinner made the bold decision to branch out and establish his own company. "Stinner Consulting is a perfect match for the type of business we seek to assist in the Incubator," stated Amoo. "There is demand in our area for their services, and John welcomes the resources, opportunities, and educational supports that WNCC provides to enhance and grow his business." Stinner Consulting is located in Suite F027 in the lower level of the John N. Harms Advanced Technology Center at 2620 College Park in Scottsbluff and can be reached at 308.630.6562.
WNCC's Business Incubator is currently accepting applications for additional tenants. If you are interested, please contact Amoo at 308.635.6702 or amooj@wncc.edu.
