
Western Nebraska Community College welcomes Rebecca Kautz MSN, RN as the Nursing Education Director-Elect, assuming the role of Director from Melaney Thomas MSN, RN in May 2015.
Director-Elect Rebecca Kautz joined the nursing faculty at WNCC in December 2006. Her 28 years of previous experience includes medical-surgical care, critical care, neurological care, and pre-operative care. Director Melaney Thomas has served with WNCC nursing programs since 1990 and became the director in April 2011. She will guide Rebecca Kautz through her orientation and training prior to retirement in May 2015.
“I’m thankful for Melaney Thomas’ leadership and mentoring over the last eight years,” Rebecca Kautz tells us. “I’m also extremely excited to transition to the Nursing Education Director’s position. The nursing program at WNCC is committed to quality nursing education, which prepares nursing graduates to work safely and competently in diverse healthcare environments.”
WNCC continues to provide opportunities for careers in nursing through the practical nursing program, the associate degree registered nursing program, and the pre-professional nursing associate transfer degree. The demand for nurses in the workforce continues to grow in response to the healthcare needs of our changing population.
