WNCC Foundation Begins Annual Campaign for Scholarship Funds

WNCC

The Western Nebraska Community College Foundation kicks off its annual fundraising campaign next Monday, March 10.  The goal of the campaign is to raise $135,000 for the annual fund, which supports Foundation operations as well as providing unrestricted funds to support WNCC student, faculty, and facilities needs at all three WNCC campuses.

"Private funding is absolutely essential to Western Nebraska Community College and its students," commented Jennifer Rogers, Foundation executive director.  "Many WNCC students couldn't afford higher education without the scholarships that they receive through the Foundation.  Last year, the Foundation was able to give over $380,000 in scholarships to WNCC students at the Alliance, Scottsbluff, and Sidney campuses."

Rogers noted that communities in western Nebraska have a strong history of supporting WNCC. "WNCC is a critical component of the Panhandle, and our constituents recognize that their contributions are a great investment in the future of our region."

A kick-off luncheon for campaign volunteers will begin at noon in the Harms Advanced Technology Center Plex on March 10.  Those wishing to donate to the Foundation or to volunteer to assist with the campaign should call the Foundation offices at 308.630.6550.

Established in 1971, the Foundation is a Nebraska non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation governed by a volunteer board with representatives from across the panhandle. The WNCC Foundation supports and promotes education and training opportunities at all three WNCC campuses.
