Cougar Volleyball Coach Selected to Head Cal State Bakersfield Team

WNCC

Western Nebraska Community College's Volleyball Coach Giovana Melo was selected this week by California State University Bakersfield as their next Director of Volleyball.

"We are very sorry to lose Coach G but wish her the best in her Division I pursuits.  Cal State Bakersfield recruited three of our Cougar volleyball players over the past few years and I'm hopeful our student athletes will continue to have opportunities with the Roadrunners and other D-I schools.  Giovana took our program to a new level and we have been grateful for her leadership, passion for the sport, and dedication to our students," said WNCC President Dr. Todd Holcomb.  "Coach G cultivated a legacy of winning of which our school and surrounding communities can be proud."
