WNCC Administrator Earns State Recognition

WNCC

Western Nebraska Community College Vice President of Administrative Services William Knapper recently earned the Nebraska Community College Association (NCAA) Administrator's Award. He received the award at the NCAA annual meeting, which ran November 3 and 4.

Administrative officers serving in Nebraska's community colleges were eligible for the award. Criteria for the honor included working in the development of innovative programs, serving in technical or special committees, demonstration of a caring attitude, and other outstanding characteristics. In speaking of William Knapper, WNCC President Dr. Todd Holcomb stated, "Mr. Knapper consistently provides exemplary leadership and proven decision-making, building upon a long tenure of service to education in the state of Nebraska."

"An award such as this does not come about solely by the efforts of the individual," says William Knapper. "It is representative of the dedication and support of all who work alongside me at WNCC. I am very honored by those who placed my name in nomination and those who made the final selection. My deepest gratitude, however, is for those I work with every day, and who make WNCC a wonderful place to work and serve. This award and my service at WNCC represents a coming full circle for me. After high school, I matriculated and graduated from McCook Junior College over 40 years ago. I truly enjoy my service at WNCC and assisting in the operation of the Nebraska Community College System."
