WNCC

Western Nebraska Community College announces that auditions for the children's play, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobewill be held on Monday, Jan. 19, from 5-7 p.m. for WNCC students, faculty, and staff. The public is invited to audition on Tuesday, Jan. 20, from 5-7 p.m. Roles are available for ages 7 and older, with adult roles also available. Auditions will be held at WNCC's Little Theatre.

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is adapted for the stage by Joseph Robinette from C. S. Lewis' classic by the same title. The play follows four children as they disappear into a wardrobe and end up in the land of Narnia. The snow-filled land has been claimed by an evil witch who spreads fear and winter wherever she goes. But not all of the creatures in Narnia are loyal to her. Aslan, the great lion, and rightful ruler of Narnia returns when the children journey to Narnia. Great duels, battles, and narrow escapes follow our characters as they learn the meaning of truth, good vs. evil, and the importance of family. In addition to these characters, favorites from C. S. Lewis' novel fill the cast: Tumnus, Fenris Ulf, the White Witch's Dwarf, Father Christmas, and Mr. and Mrs. Beaver!

Rehearsals will be held Monday through Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. and Thursday through Friday from 6-9 p.m. Performances will be March 5 at 7 p.m. with two performances on March 6, at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m., and on March 7 at 3 p.m. No preparation is needed for the audition, but those auditioning must be prepared to review rehearsal and performance dates and provide a list of conflicts.
