Western Nebraska Community College presents Varsity Vocal Showcase Saturday, October
24 at the Gering Civic Center. Tickets are $25 for the dinner and show.
The annual Varsity Vocal Showcase features the talents of the award-winning WNCC Show
Choir and multi-talented WNCC soloists. This year's theme, under the direction of
new Choral Activities Director Dr. Imgyu Kang, is "One Night Only: A Night at the
Movies" and features hit cinema songs from popular movies such as "The Sound of Music,"
"Hairspray," "Grease," "Chicago,"and "Footloose."
In keeping with "The Sound of Music" theme, the dinner will feature faschierter braten
(bacon-wrapped meatloaf of Austria), Austrian-style warm potato salad, tomaten kohl
(hot vegetable casserole), soft pretzel, apple strudel, plus coffee and iced tea.
Doors open at 6:00 p.m. with a cash bar and pre-show music. Buffet and dinner show
begin at 6:30 p.m. All tickets are reserved and may be purchased at the WNCC Business
Office or by phone at 308.635.6020 beginning Wednesday, October 7.
