WNCC Welcomes New Executive Vice President

WNCC
Western Nebraska Community College is pleased to announce Dr. Kim Dale as the new Executive Vice President of the College. Dale's duties will include serving as the College's chief educational services administrator providing leadership for the educational process and staff; managing the administration of the College's Workforce Development and the Continuing Education initiatives; overseeing the College's strategic planning process; and providing state-wide leadership and assistance in academic planning.

She replaces Dr. Terry Gaalswyk, who left WNCC to become President at Minnesota West Community & Technical College.

Dale holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Human Resource Studies with an emphasis in Community College Leadership from Colorado State University. Incidentally, Dale used WNCC to conduct her dissertation research on organizational culture in a multi-campus community college. She also has a master's degree from the University of Colorado at Denver, and a bachelor's degree from Metropolitan State College.

"Kim has a broad breadth of community college experience and established positive connections with our faculty," said Dr. Todd Holcomb, WNCC President. "She also conducted her doctoral research on WNCC and knows us very well."

Dale's experience with community colleges spans 17 years, starting as an adjunct instructor. She was promoted to a department chair and eventually a dean. For the past five years, Dale has served as dean of instruction for two campuses of Front Range Community College in Westminster, Colo. where she collaborated with campus vice presidents and instructional deans, among others. She was also responsible for curriculum and instruction for the two campuses, and was heavily involved in the planning and implementation of $32 million in overall campus renovations.

"To say that I am thrilled to become a member of the Western Nebraska Community College leadership team is no exaggeration," said Dale. "I consider this opportunity an honor and privilege and look forward to working with faculty, staff, students, and business and industry partners to enhance student access and success in Alliance, Sidney, Scottsbluff, and surrounding communities. Go Cougars!"
