WNCC Welcomes New Vice President of Student Services

WNCC
Western Nebraska Community College is pleased to announce Nina Grant as its new Vice President of Student Services. Grant's duties include serving as a member of the President's Cabinet Team to provide leadership and administrative direction to a comprehensive Student Services program.

She replaces Dr. Susan Yowell, who recently resigned from WNCC after five years of service.

Grant holds a master's degree in health education as well as a Bachelor of Science in Human Development from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Grant has several years of experience in higher education. She has served as the director for the Office of Multi-Ethnic Student Affairs/Trotter Multicultural Center at the University of Michigan, senior director of the Office of Multicultural Student Services at the University of Toledo, director of multicultural programs for the College of Agriculture at Iowa State University, and as an academic counselor with the TRIO Student Support Services program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

"I am thrilled about this opportunity," Grant said. "I really enjoyed my interactions with everyone on campus during my interview process, so I'm looking forward to being a part of a very student-centered institution."

Grant will move from Denton, Texas where she is currently an academic advisor at Lake Dallas High School.

"Mrs. Grant has a wide variety of professional experiences to support student enrichment and success," said Dr. Todd Holcomb, WNCC President. "She has strong skills in identifying student learning styles, cultures, and assisting traditionally underserved students, and with her connections to Nebraska she should be a great fit for WNCC."
