WNCC Foundation Receives $25,000 Gift From Pepsi

WNCC
Western Nebraska Community College today announced that it has received a $25,000 gift from Pepsi-Cola of Western Nebraska (Pepsi). As part of the WNCC Works: Expanding the Possibilities campaign, the gift will support workforce success, student success, and community enrichment on the three WNCC campuses in Alliance, Scottsbluff, and Sidney.

"WNCC is an integral part of the economic success of the panhandle, and we are pleased to be able to provide financial support towards their goals," said Justin Baum, Pepsi general manager. "We applaud WNCC on their efforts to educate individuals in fields that are vital to the growth of our communities."

The donation came in the midst of the fundraising campaign for the college, which will extend through the fall of 2016. This year also marks the landmark 90th anniversary of Western Nebraska Community College. The campaign has raised $8,500,000 so far, more than 90 percent of its goal. WNCC joins many community colleges that have launched campaigns to raise private donations and individual giving.

"This investment will create a learning space in which students can not only learn, but be engaged in order to foster greater success," said WNCC President Todd Holcomb. "To keep pace with a rapidly changing global economy and emerging technologies, students need to learn using the same technology tools they'll encounter on the job. We are very thankful to Justin Baum and the entire Pepsi team for being a great community partner," he added.
