WNCC Theatre Department Presents: Dracula

WNCC
The WNCC Theatre Department at Western Nebraska Community College (WNCC) presents "Dracula" by Richard Sharp, based on the novel by Bram Stoker.

The definitive stage version of Bram Stoker's classic tale of longing, lust, and immortality. This compelling, often-produced drama is especially stage-worthy because it combines a close adherence to the Victorian novel with a modern theater approach.

"The play is a delicatessen for the senses. The love story of 'Dracula' is one of dominance and sensuality," says Play Director and Theatre Instructor Robert Thompson Jr. "The play is presented with innovative storytelling techniques."
WNCC performs "Dracula" as a dinner theatre Oct. 6 and 7 in the student lounge area at the Scottsbluff campus, also known as "The Pit." Dinner theatre performances are $25 for the community and $20 for WNCC students, faculty, and staff. Dinner is served at 6:30 p.m. and the performance begins at 7:30 p.m. Dinner theatre tickets must be purchased in advance no later than Oct. 3 by contacting foundation@wncc.edu or 308-630-6550.

The WNCC Theatre Department then tours the show to the Performing Arts Center in Alliance on Saturday, Oct. 8 beginning at 7:30 p.m. in celebration of the town's "Autumn on the Bricks" event. Doors open at 7 p.m. This is a "performance only" show and is free for everyone as a gift to the community in celebration of WNCC's 90th anniversary.

Additionally, the theatre department is performing "Dracula" Sunday, Oct. 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the student lounge area at the WNCC Scottsbluff Campus. Dinner is not being served Sunday evening. General seating tickets are available for the Oct. 9 "performance only" show for $5 each and may be purchased in advance online at the WNCC box office the night of the performance.
