The Western Community College Area (WCCA) Board of Governors has selected Sampson Construction to build the Western Nebraska Community College (WNCC) Performing Arts Center, Learning Commons, and Welcome Center as part of the Scottsbluff Campus renovation and addition.
Headquartered in Lincoln, Neb., Sampson Construction has wide-ranging experience in constructing all types of commercial projects. The project will be led by the company's Western Operations Office, which is based in Cheyenne, Wyo.
"Sampson offers vast experience in working higher education institutions, and is an excellent partner for our renovation and addition project, said Dr. Todd Holcomb, WNCC president. "We are looking forward to collaborating with them and our architects to construct a top-notch facility that serves both our students and the community."
Sampson has worked with higher education institutions such as the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, University of Wyoming, the Kearney Learning Center at Central Community College, and Chadron State College. Locally, Sampson served as Construction Manager at Risk for the 2010 renovation of Bluffs Middle School in Scottsbluff.
Holcomb indicated that Sampson Construction will work with local and regional subcontractors throughout the duration of the construction.
"We are thrilled to be a part of this exciting project at WNCC and look forward to working with and building upon great relationships we have in the Scottsbluff community," said Sampson Construction Vice President Thad Lienemann.
Construction is slated to begin fall of 2017.
