Dust off your dancing shoes, as Western Nebraska Community College's annual Jump,
Jive & Swing is just around the corner.
The 11th annual event will be held Sunday, May 5 at the Hampton Inn & Suites Conference
Center in Scottsbluff. Doors open at 5:15 p.m. with live music and cocktails, while
dancing begins around 6 p.m. Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased in advance
at wncc.edu/performingarts or by calling 308-630-6550. All tickets, which include a dinner buffet and dessert, must be purchased by Wednesday,
May 1.
Jump, Jive & Swing features a variety of instrumental groups at WNCC, including Monumental
Rock Combo, Fire in the Pan Swingers, and the WNCC Jazz Combo. The different ensembles
each perform different styles and genres, giving patrons a wide selection of music
to enjoy throughout the evening.
"Jump, Jive & Swing is the perfect event to put a bow on our entire performing arts
season," said WNCC Instrumental Activities Director Dr. Nathaniel Johnson. "It's
a very informal event, so it serves as a great opportunity for the community to come
together, enjoy conversation, and maybe take part in the dancing if they feel so inclined."
