Veteran Stand Down Event Set for May 9, 10

WNCC
In collaboration with the Nebraska Department of Labor, VetSet Nebraska, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Western Nebraska Community College Veterans Upward Bound program will be hosting a Stand Down event for all area veterans.

The event, which returns to Scottsbluff a fifth straight year, will be held on May 9 from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. and May 10 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the John N. Harms Center low bays area on the WNCC Scottsbluff Campus. The local Stand Down is free for all veterans and their family members in the area.

"There really is a bunch of different services that are offered here in the Panhandle, and some that people may not know about," WNCC Military and Veterans Affairs Director Chris Wolf said. "The Veterans Stand Down brings all of these services together in one place so our veterans and their families can walk through and see exactly what all they need."

Between 30 and 40 agencies are expected to attend the Scottsbluff Stand Down to provide information on services available in the area for veterans and their families.
