Western Nebraska Community College's Sidney Campus earned the Community Impact Award in January during the Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce awards banquet.

"I'm so honored to receive this award on behalf of WNCC's Sidney Campus," said WNCC Sidney Campus Executive Director Paula Abbott. "I'm encouraged by the work being done by the entrepreneurs in the I & E Center and with the future of our community. We have tremendous support from so many people that have helped make this center a success already."

During the ceremony, WNCC was praised for its newly created Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, which serves as a business incubator for approved entrepreneurs. Approved applicants receive two years of free rent and utilities, along with a breadth of business resources including financial, legal, motivational, and planning.

WNCC's I & E Center is currently serving three start-up businesses in Sidney. For more information on the Center, contact Abbott at abbottp@wncc.edu or call308.254.7404.
