SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. - Western Nebraska Community College and the City of Scottsbluff Economic Development will host the annual Western Nebraska Manufacturing Day, Wednesday October 13, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the John N. Harms Center on the Scottsbluff Campus to coincide with national Manufacturing Month.
Manufacturers from the area will hear updates on legislative issues, regulatory actions and economic policies that affect their businesses. Those attending the event will have the opportunity to network with their peers in the region and connect with state and local representatives about issues facing their business.
"This year’s Manufacturing Day provides a rare opportunity for western Nebraska manufacturers to discuss their unique challenges with state representatives and to share best practices," City of Scottsbluff Economic Development Director Starr Lehl said. "Manufacturing Day was created to empower manufacturers to come together and address their collective issues so they can help their communities and future generations thrive."
Presenters and panelists include representatives from the UNL Manufacturing Extension Partnership, the Nebraska State Chamber of Commerce, Nebraska Department of Economic Development and the Nebraska Department of Labor as well as Owen Palm, Blueprint Nebraska Co-Chair. The format will include presentations, round table discussions and panel Q&A.
Manufacturers interested in attending can contact Deb Davis at 308.635.6335.
