Apply for Scholarships

More than $1.6 million in scholarships was awarded to WNCC students last academic year. That means, scholarship opportunities are plentiful for our students.

Scholarships do not need to be repaid and can be awarded based on need, merit, special talents, activity participation, community service, desired program of study, or other factors. To be considered for a wide variety of WNCC and outside scholarships, students should complete our scholarship application.

March 1 is the deadline to file the WNCC General Scholarship application. However, students still have an opportunity to submit a scholarship application by September 15 to be considered for a second round of awards.

Scholarship Opportunities

Scholarship opportunities for students are funded by WNCC, the WNCC Foundation, the Western Nebraska Education Endowment Association, civic and community organizations, or individual donors. Find a full list of scholarships in our Scholarship Search.

Scholarship Eligibility

To receive scholarship aid, students are required to maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA and be enrolled in at least six credits, though individual scholarships may include additional eligibility requirements. Need-based scholarships usually require the student to complete the FAFSA to demonstrate eligibility.

In order to remain eligible for financial aid, students must also adhere to the SAP Policy and other general eligibility requirements as outlined on the Financial Aid policies page.

International, undocumented, and DACA (Deferred Action of Childhood Arrivals) students are encouraged to submit the WNCC General Scholarship Application and will be matched to scholarships for which they qualify.
