Associate Dean of Instruction

Western Nebraska Community College is currently accepting applications for two Associate Dean of Instruction positions.

Position 1 – The Associate Dean assists the Dean of Instruction and Workforce Development in providing strategic leadership and direction for Business, Health Sciences, and Applied Technology.

Position 2 - The Associate Dean assists the Dean of Instruction in providing strategic leadership and direction for English, Speech and Forensics, Music, Art, Theatre, Foreign Languages, Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences, Criminal Justice, and Early Childhood Education.

Responsibilities:  
The Associate Deans assist the Deans of Instruction in providing strategic leadership and direction to WNCC faculty. The responsibilities of this position include assisting in the recruitment, hiring and evaluation of adjunct and full-time faculty, and assisting in administrative duties such as managing program budgets, enrollment management and providing leadership to the faculty.

Qualifications:
Required:  Master's degree in one of the academic disciplines the Associate Dean will oversee, or equivalent experience in a related area.  Preferred:  Terminal degree in one of the academic disciplines the Associate Dean will oversee, or significant experience in a related area.

Required:  Two (2) years of college administrative experience at the program chair level or higher.  Five (5) years of teaching experience in higher education in one of the disciplines represented within the division.  Preferred:  Full-time teaching experience at a community college.  Experience in teaching adult learners in multiple formats (i.e. online, hybrid, and face-to-face).   Knowledge of a comprehensive community college including academic policies and procedures.  Two or more years of experience leading an academic department at a community college including supervision and evaluation of faculty and/or staff, negotiating student and/or personnel conflict.  Experience with schedule development and enrollment management, career pathways and articulation agreements, accreditation, strategic planning, program evaluation, and budget preparation management

Salary: 
Commensurate.

July 1, 2019.
