Educational Services Specialist

Western Nebraska Community College is currently accepting applications for an Educational Services Specialist.

Working closely with the college’s academic leadership, manage the college’s master course syllabi process including editing and formatting all master syllabi to template; providing direction for the creation, revision, and subsequent approval process for master syllabi; and maintaining the electronic records of all master and course-level syllabi.

Staff the institution’s Curriculum Council including scheduling meetings, managing the monthly meeting agenda, and creating and maintaining a permanent institutional record of action taken at meetings.

Coordinate the college’s end of semester student feedback process including using existing software to create surveys each semester; managing the distribution and collection of surveys; and tabulating and distributing results.

Manage the permanent personnel files of adjunct faculty.  Working with the Associate Dean for Instructional Services, coordinate the institution’s adjunct application process including serving as the point of contact with Human Resources for the receipt of and response to incoming inquiries and applications; tracking materials and credentials; and ensuring compliance with federal laws related to the hiring of new adjunct faculty.

Assist in documenting and maintaining permanent records of meetings to provide supporting evidence for accreditation purposes.

Provide administrative support for the Associate Dean of Instructional Services and the directors of Institutional Effectiveness and Teaching, Learning, and Assessment as needed.

Associate’s degree and five years of increasingly responsible administrative support, technological, and/or project management experience.  Professional experiences that provide an understanding of and familiarity with Office and other technology applications, particularly as related to records and data management processes.  Strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail required.  Experience handling sensitive situations and confidential information with discretion.  Preference will be given to experience in higher education and with student information systems, preferably Colleague.
