Counseling Services WNCC
College can evoke a wave of new emotions. Some are great, and some are overwhelming. Being able to identify and understand your mental health needs is critical to reach your personal and academic success. Counseling Services at WNCC is here to lend an ear and offer a hand.

WNCC has a licensed counselor on staff who is trained to help you resolve personal difficulties that interfere with optimal personal and academic functioning. Specifically, WNCC offers individual and group counseling, as well as substance abuse evaluation and education needed to assist students.

You don’t have to navigate this college journey alone. A dedicated team of faculty and staff is always eager to point you in the right direction or just keep you moving on your path to success. Resources such as tutoring, advising and support centers students have options available to enhance their intellectual wellness.

Lifelong Learning at WNCC
Our college students aren’t the only ones learning around here. At WNCC, you’ll find classes, camps, and programs that teach and reach learners of all ages. Lifelong Learning offers a variety of community education classes to encourage you to experience new areas of education, cultivate your interests, or enrich your personal or professional skills. We offer classes for kids, for seniors, and for everyone in between. Some classes are driven to enhance your career or offer business training, including online via ed2go. And others are just meant to be fun and relaxing. Bottom line, we have a class for everyone. 

Scottsbluff Public Library Programs
Book Club (monthly)
A Novel Idea Book Club meets on the third Wednesday of each month from 1:30-3:00 p.m. in the library community room.  All are welcome. Independent book clubs may check out a book club packet at the circulation desk.
Adult Reading Program (annually)
The Adult Reading Program occurs for six weeks every fall and offers readers 18 years and over games, programs, guest presenters, and prizes to promote literacy and education.  
Volunteer
The Library relies on dependable and enthusiastic volunteers to assist with programs, mend damaged books, shelve books, and support our hard-working staff.  If you are interested in giving your time, please submit this form to librarydirector@scottsbluff.org or pick up a hard copy at the circulation desk.
Board Game Club
Board Game Club is an all-ages program the third Saturday of each month from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Anyone is welcome to join in the meeting room at the library to try out new board games, or enjoy old favorites. No registration or library card necessary.
Seed Library (seasonal)
Take a seed, leave a seed! Patrons may take up to 6 packets of seeds free of charge. Each packet has enough seeds for 3-5 herb,  flower, or vegetable plants. The library also welcomes seed donations to keep the seed library stocked.

Friends of the Library Friends of the Lied Scottsbluff Public Library is a non-profit association of persons interested in the Scottsbluff Public Library. The purpose of Friends is to:

  • Focus public attention on the library
  • Stimulate the use of the library’s resources and services
  • Receive and encourage gifts to the Friends of the Library
  • Expend and use the gifts in support of the library’s objectives
  • Support and cooperate with the library to encourage the use of library services and facilities by the community. 

Friends of the Lied Scottsbluff Public Library are people who comprise a non-profit volunteer group with a commitment to promote excellent library service. Friends support the library in two ways, fund raising and volunteer work. Fund raising is accomplished through collection of dues and donations, by an annual book sale, and other activities. 

LifeLink Nebraska
LifeLink is a program that began in western Nebraska in 2007. This program is a post-secondary program for students ages 18-21 years of age with disabilities. The LifeLink-NE program serves school districts in Western Nebraska. LifeLink-NE is the only program of its kind in the State of Nebraska. This program works in conjunction with ESU 13, WNCC, and community employers. The LifeLink-NE program provides students with transition skills including participating in R-Pad gaining independent living skills; work experiences both paid and/or volunteer; classroom experiences through the Life Centered Education curriculum; community involvement; and taking WNCC classes (credit/audit/community education). For more information, contact Julie Black (jblack@esu13.org).
